Senior Configuration Manager
Position Overview
Meridian Systematics is seeking a Senior Configuration Manager to own release integrity and configuration control for a mission program supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). You will be the gatekeeper for scheduled deployments, compliance artifacts, and security baselines across secure AWS cloud environments (C2S, SC2S, and GovCloud).
You will make sure every release is documented, traceable, and auditable from code commit to production.
Responsibilities
- Own the release calendar, coordinating deployment windows, Change Control Boards (CCBs), and code freezes across high-side and low-side environments.
- Track dependencies across teams and flag schedule risks before they affect government deliverables.
- Author and maintain release documentation, including Release Notes, Version Description Documents (VDDs), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) records, and deployment plans that meet government standards.
- Manage software and infrastructure configuration baselines, branching strategies, and audit trails for full traceability from commit to production.
- Maintain and enforce Jira and Confluence documentation standards so stories, acceptance criteria, and architecture pages stay current.
- Lead configuration audits confirming that delivered software and cloud architecture match approved documentation, security benchmarks, and frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 and ICD 503.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- 7+ years in software engineering environments, including 3–5 years of configuration management in the DoD.
- Hands-on experience managing software configurations and deployments in secure AWS environments (C2S, SC2S, or GovCloud).
- Strong knowledge of version control (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket) and configuration management tools in air-gapped or secure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Expert proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
- Exceptional technical writing, with the ability to turn complex software changes into precise, auditable documentation.
Preferred:
- CI Polygraph.
- Experience supporting releases in Agile or SAFe programs.
- AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).
- CMPIC Configuration Management certification or ITIL Foundation.
Compensation: $125,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
